Immigration Fee Assistance Fund

Government immigration fees are becoming an increasingly difficult barrier for people seeking protection in the United States. Many of these fees cannot be waived, even for people with very limited incomes.

Under this administration, people navigating the immigration system are facing a growing list of mandatory government fees, including annual asylum fees, Temporary Protected Status fees, humanitarian parole fees, and fees for children seeking Special Immigrant Juvenile status after experiencing abuse, neglect, or abandonment.

If these fees aren't paid, the consequences can be devastating, putting people's safety and futures at risk.

Over the past several months, Mainers for Humane Immigration has stepped in to help people and households cover required immigration-related fees whenever we've been able. But the need continues to grow.

A gift of $100 covers one annual asylum application renewal fee, while $250 covers one Special Immigrant Juvenile (SIJ) application fee. Every contribution, regardless of size, helps remove financial barriers for people seeking protection.
