Support Someone in ICE Detention Today
The call comes without warning. A loved one says they’ve been detained by ICE , there’s no time for details, and then the line goes dead. They are usually being held in an ICE field office at that point, and by the time families hear from them again, they’ve been taken into a detention center where even the basics cost money. Food is limited and nearly inedible. Phone calls home cost more than families can afford. Hygiene items are limited. The housing units are freezing, and people are given thin scrubs with no warm clothing or jackets. Commissary becomes the only way people can meet even their basic while in ICE detention.
Meanwhile, the family is trying to keep everything together. The rent still needs to be paid. Groceries still have to be bought. Emergency family aid can be the difference between getting by and going without.
People are released from ICE detention with nothing , no money for food, no way to get home, and nowhere safe to stay. Release support reunites people with their families, safely.
We can’t change the system overnight, but we can make it less brutal for the people caught up in it.
Here is how you can help:
$10 helps cover minutes for our detention support hotline
$30 provides commissary support for one month
$50 helps with food when someone is released
$100 helps buy a bus or plane ticket home for someone released out of state
$250 helps provide financial emergency aid for a family impacted by ICE detention.
