Sanford Mutual Aid Fund

When a loved one is detained by ICE, families often lose their only source of income. During periods of increased immigration enforcement, sheltering in place can be the safest option. Lost wages quickly lead to unpaid rent, utilities, and food insecurity.

In Sanford and the surrounding area, there are few resources equipped to respond specifically to these situations. The Sanford Mutual Aid Fund was created to help address that gap.

This initiative is run by Mainers for Humane Immigration, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Sanford that supports people impacted by ICE detention and immigration enforcement.

Your donation goes to:

  • Groceries and emergency food delivery

  • Diapers, hygiene items, and household essentials

  • Short-term support for households impacted by immigration detention and enforcement, such as utility bill and rental assistance.

In addition to monetary donations, we also accept items purchased from our Walmart Wishlist. You can view and purchase needed items here.
